The duty of the Board of Directors is to provide oversight and governance in the following ways: to define and preserve the Cross Road Medical Center Mission; to create policy consistent with the Mission; to safeguard assets; to select, evaluate, and support the CEO; to monitor & evaluate Medical Center operations; to monitor & evaluate Board performance; to perform long range strategic planning; to serve as a link to the community; and to ensure the Medical Center complies with state and federal laws.
Whenever possible, Board members are chosen to provide a cross section of professional skills, life experience and background and to represent the geographic area served by Cross Road Medical Center. A majority of Board members are patients of the medical center.
